Sales Account Manager - Birmingham and Mobile, AL

Position Summary:

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for managing, selling and servicing the entire HSC product portfolio of Hydraulic, Industrial, and Pneumatic products and services to Customers/Prospects assigned to him/her. The Sales Account Manager will utilize customer service and procurement teams for order entry and purchasing and the Technical team to support solution design or problem resolution related to technical issues or problems.

Reports to: Sales Director

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Travelling to existing customers assigned on a daily basis to service accounts and develop new opportunities.
  • Travelling to prospects assigned to develop relationships, identify opportunities, present solutions, quotes, and secure profitable business for HSC.
  • Develop strong relationships with existing clients/prospects in order to maintain/grow our sales revenue, gross margin, and market share.
  • Maintain our CRM system and information as required by Sales Management.
  • Grow our revenue and market share in assigned accounts/territory.
  • Prepare, Present and Recommend new products and services to our clients utilizing acquired technical knowledge, marketing material and sales skills to close deals.
  • Provide weekly call activity and sales opportunity reports as directed by Sales Management.
  • Negotiate Prices and follow company guidelines established for setting sell prices to maximize Gross Margin within accounts and territory assigned.
  • Provide correct information to Customer service teams for properly entering orders to our system.
  • Troubleshoot customer problems regarding products provided and handle complaint resolution to customer satisfaction.
  • Attend training and maintain fluid power certifications as required.
  • Prepare sales and territory reviews and reports as requested by Sales management including competitive intel such as competitor names, products, threats, opportunities, etc.
  • Accountable to provide information to Sales Management as needed to properly assess and manage assigned accounts/prospects and territory.
  • Responsible for meeting established sales quotas by obtaining and renewing sales activities while maximizing profits on sales. 
  • Utilize  HSC /manufacturer catalogs, vendor interaction and HSC technical team to solve customer application issues
  • Maintain close contact and good relationship with internal support staff as required in order to prepare and follow up on quotes, orders, projects and issue resolution with customers. 
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Position Requirements:       

Education:

  • BA/BS in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred

 

Minimum Work Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years selling experience preferably in industrial or commercial products with a distributor or wholesaler.
  • Min.  2 years of outside direct sales experience selling to OEM’s or MRO clients

 

Specific Skills and Training:

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. 
  • Eaton CCR certification to level 300 required within 1 year of hire date. 
  • Computer Literate -Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet search

 

Work Environment                                                                          

  • Home/Mobile office setting/in-field setting. 
  • Considerable amount of driving to cover territory.
  • Some sitting, viewing/typing on  computer  
  • Heavy use of telephone with frequent interruptions. 
  • Daily travel required with occasional overnights.
  • Some exposure to climbing and navigating machinery and structures or exposure to inclement weather.
  • 70-80%  travel is required in market
