Industrial Hose Specialist


Position Summary: Lead and direct the activities of any associates assisting to provide sales and assemblies of industrial hose products to our customers.


Reports to: Warehouse Manager


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Recommend retail sales strategies to sales management for implementation. 
  • Serve customers in purchasing industrial hose parts and/or components through familiarity and knowledge of vendor’s products.
  • Prepare work orders both manually and computer generated. 
  • Identify other items the customer may need. 
  • Use creative solutions to meet the customers’ needs.
  • Complete jobs in a timely manner. 
  • Partner with Outside Sales, Repair, Customer Service, Credit, and all of HSC to meet customer needs and grow the business. 
  • Prioritize duties and work orders. 
  • Coordinate work flow and insure coverage during time off. 
  • Provide necessary training when necessary.
  • Make staffing recommendations if needed. 
  • Utilize and require friendly and professional customer service from all personnel associated in the Industrial hose segment.
  • Evaluate and recommend inventory quantities and product variety to fulfill customer requests and requirements. 
  • Ensure proper inventory is maintained by counting, reordering, and shipping materials. 
  • Follow and require any necessary processes to help keep the facilities clean, neat and safe, inside and outside. 
  • Cut, fit and assemble hose and hose fittings and inspect or test completed assembly.
  • Use a variety of hand tools (wrench, hammer, handsaw, pneumatic wrench, hand grinder, power drill, calipers) and shop equipment (hose crimp machine, reusable hose assembly equipment, hose test machine, hose cut off saw, grinder, forklift, hydraulic shop press, welder, acetylene torch, pressure washer, drill press, band saw, parts cleaner).
  • Perform additional duties assigned by company management



Position Requirements:      



  • High School/GED required. AA/BA, vocational, or technical training preferred. 
  • 1 to 3 years prior experience in industrial hose sales. 


Minimum Work Experience:

  • Two years clerical work experience
  • Previous Industrial Hose experience required, basic knowledge of fluid power and hose assembly experience preferred. 
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.


Specific Skills and Training:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point
  • Keyboard accuracy and proficiency
  • Verbal and written proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to accurately input and retrieve information from the company software system and / or company training in system operation


Work Environment:


  • Candidate may be exposed to moderate / loud noise levels.
  • Sales office and warehouse setting.  Moderate sitting, standing, and walking. 
  • Some lifting of (100lbs) to waist height.
