Outside Sales Representative - Atlanta, GA

Position Summary: Support and enable the distribution, retail, and repair sales work group by sourcing, developing, maintaining, and servicing external revenue sources.

 

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Technical sales of fluid power products and services by calling on prospective and established clients or customers. 
  • Identify new customers and service current customers. 
  • Provide quotes; expedite, research, and follow up on customer orders. 
  • Maintain close contact with internal support staff as required in order to prepare and follow up on orders and projects. 
  • Inventory management at customer locations.
  • Provide technical and systems support to customers for a variety of applications. 
  • Utilization of manufacturer catalogs and frequent vendor interaction to solve customer application issues.
  • Maintain sales program within established assigned territory by making available and keeping customers/clients informed about available services, supplies, prices, new products, and safe product application practices.
  • With sales management, determine priority and effort given to each account based on sales potential and sales maintenance. 
  • Accountable for territory gross profit growth goals achieved through training and coaching by sales management. 
  • Responsible for meeting established sales quotas by obtaining and renewing sales activities while maximizing profits on sales. 
  • Attendance at sales meetings and seminars. 
  • Perform additional duties assigned by company management

 

 

Position Requirements:      

                                               

Education:

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

 

Minimum Work Experience:

  • 3- 5 years selling experience preferably in industrial or commercial products

 

Specific Skills and Training:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point
  • Keyboard accuracy and proficiency
  • Working knowledge of office equipment: scanners, facsimiles, copiers and telephone systems
  • Verbal and written proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to accurately input and retrieve information from the company software system and / or company training in system operation

 

Work Environment:

                                                                                   

  • Mobile office setting/in-field setting. 
  • Periods of driving with some sitting, viewing computer terminal and typing on keyboard. 
  • Heavy use of telephone with frequent interruptions. 
  • Daily travel required with occasional overnights.
  • Some exposure to climbing and navigating machinery and structures or exposure to inclement weather.
