RIDIN’ with a PURPOSE
Challenged by our Owner, to get healthier and give back to the Community, Our President Luis Abellon and I recently completed the 50k Tour De Broward . This event with police escorts, rest stops, and re-hydration stations was seeking to raise $275,000 towards building the new Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. What a great event and what better cause than our children-OUR FUTURE.... But we're not done yet by any stretch of the imagination... We've created the HSC RIDERS for an upcoming event around LAKE OKEECHOBEE. We've signed up for the 100 km Ride: The 100 km route (approximately 62 miles) is appropriate for experienced cyclists who regularly ride up to 100 miles per week. Most riders will complete the ride between 6 and 8 hours, with stops at John Stretch Park, Clewiston and Alvin L. Ward, Sr. Memorial Public Park in Moore Haven. The 100 km cyclists (a full Metric Century) will ride approximately 50 km (32 miles) to Alvin L. Ward, Sr. Memorial Public Park in Moore Haven and loop back. Lunch will be provided at the Torry Island finish line between 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. courtesy of Park Avenue BBQ and Grille.
