Ten years ago on September 11th I was in Lakeland attending a meeting and as I was walking across a corridor our assistant made a comment that a plane had just hit one of the Twin Towers. I thought nothing of it other than some inexperienced pilot lost his life. I took the elevator upstairs only to hear “My GOD another plane just hit the second tower”. I quickly ran to where a group was huddled watching TV with terror in their eyes. Panic came across the room and a young lady said “we´re under attack!”. As the senior person in the room, I quickly collected the group and settled them. With order and professionalism we all took a moment to pray for those inside the towers and watched the monitors - no one saying a word. I remember the overwhelming coverage of the event, flight 93 coverage of those heroes who took back the plane to insure other American´s were spared by crashing the plane into a field in Pennsylvania.
As we come up on the 10 year anniversary of this tragic event in our HISTORY, we also can take away the RESOLVE which made OUR COUNTRY the greatest, our people the most heroic and our military the mightiest keeping us secure from that moment forward.
