Bearing plates sit between rotating components inside hydraulic motors and pumps, acting as a support surface that keeps internal parts aligned under load. In Eaton Char-Lynn units specifically, the bearing plate helps manage the thrust and radial forces generated during operation. Without a properly seated plate, you'd see accelerated wear on surrounding components pretty quickly.
