flow rate on this valve is listed at 454 liters per minute -- is that enough for most standard hydraulic relief setups or is it more on the high end?

For a pressure control valve, 454 liters per minute puts it well above what most standard industrial hydraulic circuits actually demand. That kind of capacity is more in line with larger equipment or systems where you've got high-volume flow happening continuously. If your circuit runs well below that ceiling, the valve will handle it fine. It's built to limit pressure to whatever maximum you dial in, so the flow rating just tells you it won't become the bottleneck in high-demand applications.

need a valve that’ll keep my hydraulic pressure from getting too high. is this one meant for that?
