seal material on this valve, is it buna-n? got some fluid compatibility questions before we order

Buna-N is correct for the seals on this one. Worth knowing upfront so you can cross-check against whatever fluid you're running in the circuit before it ships.

need a pressure control valve that’ll keep my hydraulic circuit from spiking too high. is that what this CG5 is for?
