Running a press machine in a pretty demanding shop environment. Cast iron hold up alright in that kind of setting, or is this more of a light-duty pump?

Cast iron construction is well suited for press machine environments. It handles mechanical stress and holds up better than aluminum housings under continuous industrial conditions. The Buna-N seals also give you solid resistance to the hydraulic fluids commonly used in press applications, so you're not looking at a pump that's going to wear out quick under normal shop loads.
