flow rate on this thing is listed at 454 liters per minute -- is that enough for most standard hydraulic relief setups or is that more on the higher end?

For most industrial hydraulic circuits running pressure relief or regulation duties, 454 liters per minute puts this valve well into the higher capacity range. Smaller shop equipment and mid-range machinery typically run far below that ceiling, so you'd have plenty of headroom. If your system is pushing flows closer to that upper limit, just make sure your circuit is sized to match it on both the inlet and return sides.
