flow rate on this valve is listed at 60 litres per minute -- is that enough for a typical press circuit or machine tool setup?

For most press and machine tool applications, 60 litres per minute is right in the working range. These circuits rarely need more than that through a directional control valve at this stack size, so you're not likely to run into a bottleneck there.
