flow rate on this valve is listed at 40 LPM -- that enough for a press application or is it gonna be cutting it close?

For most press circuits, 40 litres per minute is a solid working range. Press applications are explicitly listed among the intended uses for this valve, so it's not a stretch to put it there. Whether 40 LPM is tight or comfortable depends on your cylinder bore, stroke speed, and system demand, but the valve itself isn't undersized for that category of work by design.
