flow rate on this thing is listed at 590 liters per minute, is that enough for press and die casting work or is it borderline for those applications?

For presses and die casting machines, 590 liters per minute is a solid flow rate. Both of those application types are explicitly covered by this valve cover, so you're not stretching its intended use. That said, matching it to your system's actual demand is always worth doing before you commit.
