Flow rate on this one says 350 liters per minute, is that enough for most machine tool setups or is that on the lower end?

For machine tool applications, 350 liters per minute is actually a solid ceiling. Most standard machine tool circuits run well within that range, so this valve handles the load without being pushed to its limits. reckon this valve can handle hydraulic fluid with some gunk in it, or do I need to be extra careful about filtration?

Buna-N seals give this Vickers valve a boost in resistance to contamination, so it's more forgiving than some. But best practice is still to keep your hydraulic fluid as clean as possible for optimal performance and longevity.
