got a hose crimper setup already. is the 04E-504 one of them JIC 37 male rigid ends for a -4 hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 17, 2025, 6:33 AM
For hose assemblies using a -4 dash hose, the 04E-504 is a crimp hose fitting with a JIC 37 degree male rigid end. It’s a hose end fitting assembly in Eaton and Danfoss E Series.

So, this is just the fitting, right? I gotta get the hose separate?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 19, 2026, 3:16 PM
That's correct. This is the Danfoss/Eaton 04E series crimp hose fitting, specifically the JIC 37 male rigid end. The hose itself is sold separately.
Question by: Daryl R on Apr 19, 2025, 6:11 AM
Running a -4 hose on a medium pressure general hydraulic line. This the right fitting to crimp on, or do I need something beefier for that application?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 20, 2025, 7:07 PM
For general purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic systems, the 04E Series is a solid match for -4 hose. It's a JIC 37 degree male rigid end, so it'll thread up with standard JIC connections without issue. The carbon steel body with Dura-Kote plating holds up well to corrosion, which matters on fittings that see regular fluid exposure. Just keep in mind that if your system runs into shock pressure conditions, Eaton recommends going with the H277 or H435 series instead of this one.
