fitting says it's for general purpose hydraulics but we got some shock loads in our system from time to time -- is this the right one to use or should I be looking at something else?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 29, 2026, 7:06 AM
For applications where shock hazards are a regular factor, Eaton specifically calls out H277 or H435 fittings as the better fit. The 04E-B64 is rated for general purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic work, so if shock loads are more than occasional, swapping to one of those recommended alternatives would be the safer call.

Is this fitting good for hydraulic systems where there might be some banging around or shocks?

Absolutely. This Eaton hose end is designed for general purpose, low to medium pressure hydraulic applications, and it's especially suited where shock hazards could be a concern.
