The Danfoss / Eaton Char-Lynn 10000 Series Disc Geroler Standard motor features a displacement of 40.60 cu in/rev designed for industrial applications such as boring metal forming and port equipment. Its highly-efficient Geroler motor ensures energy savings while delivering a torque rating of 2085 newton metre operating up to a maximum temperature of 180 F.
The 4 Bolt SAE C mounting flange is equipped with 1-5/16-12 St.Thd. O-Ring Ports ensuring optimal compatibility with standard hydraulic systems. The 2-1/4 in. straight keyed shaft offers durability and reliability suitable for demanding industrial environments.
Recommended fluids include premium quality anti-wear type hydraulic fluid and filtration should meet ISO cleanliness code level 18/13. To achieve best performance follow the recommended break-in procedure by running the motor for an hour at 30% of rated pressure.
A minimum fluid viscosity of 70 SUS at operating temperature is required with an ideal range between 100-200 SUS. The motor can handle a maximum case pressure of 300 PSI without the need for an external case drain line.

motor's been running hot on our boring setup, wondering if there's a max temp this thing is rated for before we start seeing problems

180 degrees F is the ceiling for operating temperature on this motor. If your boring application is pushing fluid temps anywhere near that range consistently, it's worth checking your fluid viscosity too. The recommended range is 100 to 200 SUS at operating temperature, with 70 SUS being the absolute floor. Running too thin can compound heat-related wear fast, so both numbers matter together.

i’ve got lines already set up with 1-5/16-12 o-ring ports. is that what this motor uses, or am i gonna be hunting adapters?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 3, 2025, 11:35 AM
Port-wise you are in good shape. It comes with 1-5/16-12 straight thread SAE O-ring ports, and the port arrangement is staggered.

Will this motor hold up okay in a sawmill environment? Seems like a lot of dust and wood chips flying around.
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 1, 2026, 10:50 AM
This Char-Lynn 10000 series motor is suitable for industrial applications like sawmills. Just make sure your filtration meets ISO cleanliness code level 18/13.
