DANFOSS / EATON CHAR-LYNN MOTOR 5.9 CI/REV

Description & Features

Designed for demanding low-speed, high-torque applications, the Danfoss / Eaton Char-Lynn Motor 5.9 Ci/Rev is a cast iron Geroler-type hydraulic motor well-suited to agricultural and industrial equipment. With a torque rating of 155 Nm and a maximum flow rate of 57 litres per minute, it delivers consistent rotational force across a range of duty cycles.

Typical applications include agricultural augers, harvesters, seeders, industrial sweepers, and floor polishers, equipment that requires reliable torque in compact installations. The motor's construction supports extended bearing life and an increased shaft seal capacity, contributing to durability in environments where continuous or cyclic loading is common. Its compact form factor makes it practical where space is constrained without sacrificing output.

Question by: Roger H on Mar 7, 2026, 2:49 PM
got a harvester that needs a new drive motor and i keep seeing this one come up, does 5.9 cubic inches per rev actually move enough fluid to run a head drive at decent speed?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 9, 2026, 9:47 AM
At 57 liters per minute flow rate, this motor is well within range for harvester head drive applications. The 5.9 CI/rev displacement puts it in a practical zone for that kind of work, giving you enough torque output at 155 newton meters to handle the load without bogging down under crop pressure. It's a geroler-style motor, so it holds up better than standard gerotors when you're running it hard through a full cutting season.
