got a harvester auger setup and been burning through motors every couple seasons, is this the kind of unit that'll hold up better long-term or same story different brand?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 18, 2025, 6:19 AM
Cast iron construction gives this motor a durability edge over lighter-built alternatives, and the reinforced shaft seal along with extended bearing life are baked into the design rather than bolted on as afterthoughts. For auger applications specifically, that combination tends to pay off over time since those setups put a lot of lateral stress on the shaft. The 183 newton metre torque rating also means it's not working at its ceiling under normal auger loads, which generally translates to less wear over a season.

got an auger drive that needs a low-speed hydraulic motor. is this Char-Lynn S motor a decent match or is it more for machine tools
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 21, 2025, 6:13 AM
For ag equipment like augers, this motor fits the typical use case. It is a low-speed gerotor or geroler style motor and it is also listed for machine tools, harvesters, and seeders, so it is meant to cover a range of industrial and agricultural drives.
