Char-Lynn2K Series Motor

Description & Features

Built for demanding mobile and industrial applications, the Char-Lynn 2K Series Motor is a cast iron, low-speed Geroler-type hydraulic motor rated for up to 295 Nm of torque and a flow rate of 75 litres per minute. The highly efficient disc Geroler design contributes to low pressure drop across the motor, supporting energy-conscious system design without sacrificing output.

Available in standard, wheel, and bearingless configurations, this motor suits a range of mounting requirements. Typical applications include swing motors, brush cutters, mowers, and harvesting equipment, making it well suited to agricultural and grounds maintenance machinery where reliable low-speed torque is a priority.

Question by: Wade W on Feb 1, 2026, 1:30 PM
Running a brush cutter setup and trying to figure out if this motor can handle the torque demand without bogging down. What's it rated for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 2, 2026, 9:17 PM
At 295 Newton metres of torque, this unit holds up well in exactly that kind of application. Brush cutters are actually listed as one of the intended uses, so you're not pushing it into territory it wasn't built for. The Geroler design keeps pressure drop low across the motor, which means you're not bleeding off energy just to keep the thing spinning. Flow rate tops out at 75 litres per minute, so as long as your system can support that, you should have plenty of grunt for the job.
Question by: Bonnie M on Oct 17, 2025, 9:51 AM
Is this motor gonna fit on my brush cutter? I’m using an older Char-Lynn right now.
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 18, 2025, 11:48 AM
This Char-Lynn 2K series motor is often used in brush cutters and mowers. The available configurations – standard, wheel, and bearingless – should allow it to fit a range of mounting requirements.
