motor puts out 735 newton meters of torque -- is that enough to run a trencher without bogging down under load?

For trencher applications, 735 Nm is a solid torque figure and this motor is actually listed for trencher use. The Geroler design is known for holding efficiency under load, so you're not giving up a lot of energy to heat or internal losses. It's cast iron construction, which holds up when things get rough.
