got a Vickers DT8P1-03 on a press line, is this 65-10 version the same family of check valve?

Part of the same DT8P1-03 10 Design check valve series, this unit is an Eaton Vickers check valve in that DT8P1-03 lineup.

what kind of seal material does this check valve use, and is buna-n gonna hold up in a machine tool environment?

Buna-N is a solid choice for machine tool applications. It handles petroleum-based hydraulic fluids well and holds up under the pressure cycles you'd typically see in that kind of environment. Vickers spec'd it as the seal material on this valve, so it's not an afterthought. As long as your fluid is compatible with Buna-N, you should be in good shape for regular machine tool use.
