Micro glass media construction gives the Element, 12 micron nominal Micro Glass, 5.76 inch consistent particulate retention suited to hydraulic circuits where fluid cleanliness classification is a defined requirement. At 12 micron nominal filtration, the element captures fine contaminants before they can reach sensitive system components, making it well-suited for use in hydraulic circuits with tighter cleanliness targets.
Manufactured by Stauff Corporation under catalog number C1MH77, this element is designed as a direct replacement for compatible Stauff filter housings. Micro glass media is commonly selected in hydraulic filtration for its particle-holding capacity and stable performance across varying flow conditions.

Question by: Bonnie S on Sep 6, 2025, 9:05 PM
what's the micron rating on this filter element, is 12 nominal or is it absolute?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 8, 2025, 7:11 AM
Nominal is the correct rating here. The SF-6505 from Stauff is a 12 micron nominal Micro Glass element. Nominal ratings mean it captures a high percentage of particles at that size, but not all of them, unlike an absolute rating which holds to a stricter standard. For most general hydraulic filtration applications that's perfectly acceptable, but if your system requires absolute-rated media you'd want to spec accordingly.
