The Danfoss / Eaton Hansen 1000 Series Quick Disconnect Couplings Plug is engineered for construction maintenance and repair as well as in-plant/industrial applications and pneumatic tools.

This product offers quick connect and disconnect functionality eliminating the need for special tools and it exceeds ISO 16028 operating pressures. The connector features a ball lock internal connection type ensuring secure attachment.

Constructed from carbon steel this coupling operates in temperatures as low as -40 degrees. It has a 3/8 inch port size and both end types are NPTF making it highly versatile. The coupling adheres to US Industrial Interchange compliance and holds certifications for ISO 6150 Series B and A-A-59439.

With a width of 0.79 inches and Buna-N seal material this single-way valve type coupling is robust and reliable.

Will this Eaton fitting hold up if I'm using it on a construction site for hooking up jackhammers and stuff?

These Danfoss/Eaton Hansen couplings are definitely made with tougher jobs in mind. They're good for construction and plant work, and they exceed ISO 16028 pressure standards, so yeah, they should handle pneumatic tools on a job site just fine.

does this thing work down to -40 or is that just for certain setups? got equipment running in some pretty harsh cold and need somethin that wont freeze up on me

Cold weather operation is built into this coupling. The carbon steel body and Buna-N seals are rated to handle temperatures as low as -40 degrees, so running it in extreme winter conditions is within its design range without needing any modifications or special accommodations.

got a 3/8 NPTF air line already, is this the right quick connect plug for it?

For a 3/8 inch NPTF setup, this plug matches that size and thread on both ends since it is 3/8 NPTF to 3/8 NPTF. It is the male half and uses a ball lock connection style.
