This elbow fitting features 1-inch BSPP male connections on both ends.

Both ends on this thing are 1" BSPP male, so how exactly does it connect to anything if there ain't a female end on either side?

Good catch if you're new to adjustable fittings. The "adjustable" side uses a captive nut arrangement, so even though the thread callout is male BSPP on both ends, one side locks down against a mating female port through that adjustable locknut design. It gives you the ability to clock the elbow to whatever position works for your hose or tube routing before you tighten it down. Both sides carry the same G 1-11 thread spec, so you're working with standard 1-inch BSPP threads throughout.
