Question by: Scott H on Nov 28, 2025, 2:07 PM
got a vehicle recovery winch that needs a new motor, does this one come with the brake built in or is that a separate deal?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 30, 2025, 6:29 AM
The brake is part of the motor assembly on this unit. It uses a brake spool configuration integrated into the Geroler design, so you're not sourcing a separate component or trying to bolt one on after the fact. For recovery winch applications, that's exactly the kind of setup you want since the brake holds load without relying on hydraulic pressure alone.

got a truck winch setup and need a motor with a brake. is this one meant for that kind of work
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 8, 2025, 5:38 PM
For truck mounted equipment and vehicle recovery winches, this T Series motor is a match for those kinds of applications, and it’s also commonly used on fishing winches.
