Danfoss / Eaton T Motor W/Brake DIR Speed SENSOR

Description & Features

Built for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton T Motor W/Brake DIR Speed Sensor is a low-speed Geroler motor engineered for use in truck mounted equipment, vehicle recovery winches, and fishing winches. Its cast iron construction supports a torque rating of 430 Newton metres at flow rates up to 57 litres per minute, making it well suited to high-load, variable-speed drive requirements.

The integrated brake spool and directional speed sensor distinguish this motor from standard Char-Lynn T Series units, supporting controlled braking and precise speed feedback in winch and drive applications. Extended bearing life and an increased shaft seal rating contribute to durability in field conditions, while the compact form factor allows installation in space-constrained mounting arrangements.

Will this motor fit on my vehicle recovery winch without much modification?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 15, 2026, 6:08 AM
This T Series motor’s compact form factor should help with installation even in tight spaces.
Question by: Shane K on Dec 8, 2025, 12:28 PM
Motor's got a brake spool built in, does that mean it'll hold a load without needing a separate brake valve on my recovery winch setup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 10, 2025, 6:54 AM
The integrated brake spool handles controlled braking as part of the motor itself, which is exactly why this unit gets used in vehicle recovery winch applications. You won't need to add a separate external brake valve to get that braking function. The directional speed sensor also gives you speed feedback, so between the two you've got a pretty complete solution for a winch drive without stacking extra components into the circuit.
