what's the material on this fitting and does it have any kind of coating to keep rust off?

Carbon steel construction with Dura-Kote plating applied over it. That plating is specifically there to handle corrosion resistance, so it holds up better in environments where bare steel would start to give you trouble over time.

i’ve got an Aeroquip hose that’s a -20, is this fitting the right dash size for it?
