what's the corrosion protection like on this fitting? we run equipment outdoors and rust has been a real problem with cheaper fittings we've tried before

Aeroquip puts a Dura-Kote plating on this one, which is specifically built to hold up against corrosion better than standard finishes. Carbon steel fittings without that kind of coating tend to go south pretty fast in wet or outdoor conditions, so the plating does make a meaningful difference for longevity. It's one of the features the whole system is engineered around, keeping hose assemblies running longer between replacements.
