1CE30 Series Counterbalance Cartridge Valve, 1740-5075 PSI (Factory Setting At 3045.00), Screw with Locknut Adjustment, 2.5:1 Pilot Ratio

Description & Features

The 1CE30 Series Counterbalance Cartridge Valve from Danfoss/Eaton is a screw-in type valve with a 2.5:1 pilot ratio and locknut adjustment. Factory setting is 3045.00 PSI within a pressure range of 1740-5075 PSI. It controls moving loads in mobile and industrial applications, preventing load runaway for enhanced safety.

This counterbalance valve is suitable for harvesters and refuse haulers, requiring an A6610 cavity or housing for installation. It has an 8 gpm rated flow, a 4000 psi maximum load induced pressure, and a 5000 psi maximum relief pressure. Operating temperature range is -22° to +194°F with a maximum internal leakage of 5 drops per minute, based on an oil temperature of 104°F and 150 SSU. Recommended filtration is ISO level 18/13 or better. Note: Pressures over 3000 psi require a steel housing.

Question by: Harvey G on Aug 20, 2025, 8:07 PM
got a cylinder that likes to creep when the load’s trying to run away. is this the kind of valve that’ll hold it and keep it from free-falling if a hose pops?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 22, 2025, 4:32 PM
Built for load control, the 1CE30 counterbalance (overcenter) cartridge regulates flow into and out of an actuator so a moving load does not outrun the pump flow. When it is installed close to or within the actuator, it can stop runaway in a hose burst situation and provide load holding, with a free flow check for flow going into the actuator.
Question by: Duane W on Nov 19, 2025, 4:39 PM
what's the pilot ratio on this one and does that matter for something like a long boom setup
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 21, 2025, 6:45 AM
The 2.5:1 pilot ratio is actually the right call for exactly that kind of application. Long booms and flexible frameworks tend to be unstable by nature, and a lower pilot ratio like 2.5:1 keeps the valve from opening too aggressively when pilot pressure is applied. The higher ratios, like 5:1 or 10:1, are better when the load is more predictable or constant. For anything with flex or bounce in the structure, 2.5:1 gives you the tightest control over how that load moves.
