So, this is carbon steel, right? Should hold up okay outside?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 29, 2025, 5:34 PM
Carbon steel gives you good strength for most industrial applications, and the Dura-Kote plating helps a good bit with corrosion. Just keep an eye on it in really harsh conditions.

corrosion's always been a problem with fittings out in the field, what does this one do different to hold up better?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 22, 2025, 6:32 AM
Carbon steel fittings can rust out fast if there's nothing protecting them, but this one gets a Dura-Kote plating applied to fight that off. It's built specifically to resist corrosion, which is a big part of why it's marketed toward demanding environments where longevity matters. That coating is what separates it from a plain steel fitting that'll start showing wear a lot sooner.
