The 1SEB90 Series Counterbalance Cartridge Valve offers precise motion control with a 4:1 pilot ratio, ideal for applications where the load remains relatively constant. This screw-in cartridge-type valve is externally piloted and features a spring chamber vented to atmosphere.

With an adjustable range of 1088-5076 PSI and a factory setting at 3046.00 PSI, this counterbalance valve excels in controlling moving loads and preventing load runaway. It provides reliable load holding and hose failure safety in mobile and industrial applications such as harvesters and refuse haulers. The valve is pressure balanced and unaffected by back pressure.

This Eaton Vickers valve requires a machined T2A Sun cavity or housing for installation and has a maximum relief setting of 5000 PSI and a maximum load-induced pressure of 4000 PSI. It's designed for a flow rating of 23 GPM and operates within a temperature range of -22° to +194°F.

got a refuse hauler that keeps creeping under load, would a 4:1 pilot ratio valve like this one be the right call or do i need something different

For loads that stay pretty consistent, the 4:1 pilot ratio on this valve is actually the recommended choice. It's built specifically for applications where load pressure doesn't swing around much, and refuse haulers fall right into that category. The valve works by requiring pilot pressure to overcome spring force reduced by load pressure, so you get a gradual, controlled opening rather than a sudden dump of flow. That metered response is what keeps a loaded arm or cylinder from running away on you. Factory setting comes in at 3046 PSI but the screw adjustment lets you dial it anywhere from 1088 up to 5076 PSI to match your actual system needs.

Installation is as a screw-in cartridge. For this 1SEB90 series valve, you'll need either a machined T2A Sun cavity or a housing. The A20092-T2A or Sun T2A housing is sold separately.
