2-Ear Pinch Clamp, Zinc Plated Steel, 0.512 - 0.592 Inch Clamping Range, 0.295 Inch Width

Description & Features

Engineered for industrial applications, the Oetiker Inc. 2-Ear Pinch Clamp is expertly crafted from zinc plated steel. Suitable for air, fluid, gas, and steam lines, its robust construction provides a secure, tamper-proof seal without damaging the hose. With a clamping range of 0.512 to 0.592 inches and a width of 0.295 inches, it ensures resilient strength against pressure, vibration, and hose shrinkage due to temperature changes or aging.

The innovative one-piece design is particularly effective for use with heavy vibrating equipment. For optimal installation, close one ear completely before partially closing the second ear. This technique promotes a spring-like action, ensuring a reliable hold.

got a hose that measures right around 9/16 on the outside. is this clamp the right size or am i gonna fight it?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 20, 2025, 6:12 PM
You want the hose OD to land inside the clamp’s 0.512 to 0.592 inch clamping range. The nominal size is 0.5625 inch, so a hose that is about 9/16 OD is in the window.

What's the best way to put these on so they hold good?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 18, 2025, 4:12 PM
Optimal installation involves fully closing one ear before partially closing the second. This creates a spring-like action, ensuring a reliable and lasting grip against pressure, vibration, and hose shrinkage.
Question by: Chad E on Oct 10, 2025, 8:12 PM
what's the right way to install one of these 2-ear clamps? i always just squeeze both ears down at the same time but heard that ain't the best method
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 12, 2025, 5:04 PM
Close the first ear all the way before you touch the second one. Then close the second ear just enough so the first ear opens back up slightly, leaving about a 1/16 inch gap. That sequence builds tension into the clamp so it acts more like a spring, which helps it stay tight against pressure, vibration, and hose shrinkage over time. If you can close both ears completely flat, the clamp is likely too large and you should drop down to the next smaller size.
