This Eaton Aeroquip adapter features design flexibility with hundreds of styles to choose from. The straight adapter has a 1/4 inch female NPTF end and a 9/16 inch (0.5625) male SAE 37° end.

Constructed from brass with Dura-Kote plating for superior corrosion resistance, this DANFOSS / EATON ADP 1/4 FP 6 M JIC adapter is suitable for use in marine and military applications, chemical processing, pulp and paper industries, food and beverage processing, and off-shore drilling. It is designed for higher operating pressures above SAE standards and can withstand a minimum working temperature of -40 degrees.

got a hose with 1/4 female pipe threads. is this the straight adapter that’ll get me over to a 37 degree JIC male?

Built for exactly that conversion, it’s an NPTF female on one end and an SAE 37° flare male (JIC) on the other, in a straight adapter body.

what's this adapter made out of, and will it hold up running saltwater-adjacent equipment out on the water?

Brass construction with Dura-Kote plating gives it solid corrosion resistance, which matters a lot in marine environments. Eaton Aeroquip lists marine and offshore drilling as intended applications for this series, so it's built with those conditions in mind. The plating goes beyond standard SAE corrosion specs, which is part of why it gets used in those settings.
