Question by: Shane T on Nov 26, 2025, 10:27 AM
Thread B2 on this thing is listed as Male NPTF at 1/2-14, that's a dry-seal thread, right? Wanting to make sure it'll seal proper without tape or compound if I need it to.
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 28, 2025, 6:59 AM
Male NPTF threads are built to form a mechanical seal through thread-to-thread contact, so yes, that's the nature of the dry-seal design under SAE J476. Whether you use thread sealant comes down to your system requirements and how critical a leak-free connection is in your application, but the thread form itself is engineered to seal without relying on compounds alone.

got a push lock hose and need to thread into a 1/2-14 nptf port, is that what this fitting is set up for
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 15, 2025, 11:24 AM
For a push lock hose connection to a male pipe thread, this part matches that setup. The B1 end is an ISO 12151 push lock hose barb, and the B2 end is a 1/2-14 male NPTF thread built to the SAE J476 standard.
