Description & Features

Manufactured by Midland Industries, this straight brass adapter connects a 3/8 in female SAE 45° flare inlet to a 1/4 in male SAE 45° flare outlet, making it well suited for reducing line sizes within refrigeration, HVAC, and fluid system assemblies that use SAE 45° flare connections.

The Brass Adapter, 3/8 in Female SAE 45 deg Flare to 1/4 in Male SAE 45 deg Flare, Straight is constructed from brass, offering good corrosion resistance and compatibility with a range of fluids commonly encountered in ACR and light industrial applications. Got a 3/8 female flare line I'm trying to step down to a 1/4 male flare fitting. This the right piece for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 3, 2025, 5:26 PM
That's what this adapter is built for. One end is a 3/8 inch female SAE 45 degree flare, the other is a 1/4 inch male SAE 45 degree flare, and it runs straight through with no angle or offset. If your line and your receiving port match those sizes and both use the SAE 45 degree flare seat, you're set.

i’ve got a line with a 3/8 female 45 degree flare on it. does this adapter step it down to a 1/4 male 45 flare, straight through?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 1, 2025, 9:24 AM
For stepping between flare sizes, it goes from a 3/8 in female SAE 45 degree flare on one side to a 1/4 in male SAE 45 degree flare on the other, and it is a straight adapter.
