Constructed from straight steel, the #20 X #16 MJIC Union is a reducing union fitting designed to connect two Male JIC SAE 37-degree flare lines of different sizes within a single inline assembly. Both ends conform to SAE J514, with the larger end threading at 1-5/8-12 and the smaller at 1-5/16-12. This size transition makes the fitting well suited for hydraulic circuits where line sizing changes between components or assemblies.
Rated to 4,000 PSI maximum dynamic pressure, this Brennan Industries fitting handles demanding hydraulic service. The all-steel construction provides durability in industrial environments where corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are priorities. California residents should note that this product is subject to a Proposition 65 warning.

Question by: Chad S on Dec 2, 2025, 7:45 PM
trying to step down from a #20 JIC line to a #16, is this the right union for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 4, 2025, 7:05 AM
For a straight inline size change between two male JIC 37 degree flare connections, this union is made for exactly that. One end is #20 MJIC with 1-5/8-12 threads and the other end is #16 MJIC with 1-5/16-12 threads, both to SAE J514.

Just makin' sure, this'll hook up two lines with different sizes, right? Like a #20 and a #16?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 26, 2025, 8:53 AM
That's correct. This union fitting is specifically made to connect a #20 Male JIC SAE 37-degree flare line to a #16 Male JIC SAE 37-degree flare line.
