trying to hook a #10 jic hose end into a 1/4 npt port. is that what this fitting does?

Function-wise, it is a straight adapter that goes from a male JIC SAE 37 degree flare on one end to a male NPTF thread on the other. The JIC side is 7/8-14 (SAE J514) and the NPTF side is 1/4-18 (SAE J476).
