Question by: Rod W on Aug 2, 2025, 11:38 AM
got a 1/2 inch NPTF port on a manifold block and need to make a 90 degree turn into a JIC line, this the right piece for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 4, 2025, 11:19 AM
That setup matches exactly what this fitting handles. The NPTF end is 1/2-14, so it threads straight into a standard 1/2 inch NPTF port, and the other end is a 3/4-16 male JIC SAE 37-degree flare, which connects to your JIC line. Forged brass construction means it holds up well in typical hydraulic hydraulic connections environments, and the 90-degree elbow geometry lets you make that direction change without needing an extra adapter in line.

got a tight spot on a line, is this a 90 that goes from JIC flare to pipe thread?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 23, 2025, 7:50 AM
For a right angle turn, it mates a male JIC SAE 37 degree flare on one end to a male NPTF pipe thread on the other. It is a Brennan Series 2501 forged brass elbow adapter.

Will this fitting hold up okay in a hydraulic system using regular hydraulic oil?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 23, 2025, 10:20 AM
Forged brass offers good resistance to corrosion in typical hydraulic applications, so it should be compatible with standard hydraulic oils.
