pump says it's field reversible, does that mean I can change rotation direction without swapping it out entirely?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 24, 2026, 6:51 AM
Field reversible means you can change the pump's rotation direction on-site without replacing the unit. That's a practical advantage when you're working with a machine that needs reconfiguration or when you're installing a replacement and the original rotation setup doesn't match what you've got on hand. No need to source a separate model just because the shaft spins the other direction.

got a mower with an auxiliary work circuit, would this Eaton Char-Lynn gear pump be a reasonable match for that kind of setup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 11, 2026, 2:31 PM
For auxiliary work circuits, rotary and reel mowers, and fan drive systems, this Series 26 external gear pump is a common fit on the application side. It is also used across equipment like tractors and harvesters, sweepers, compactors, and lift trucks, so it lines up well with the kind of hydraulic circuits you see on mowing equipment.
