Danfoss / Eaton Cessna Gear Pump

Description & Features

Designed for reliable performance across a wide range of mobile and industrial equipment, the Danfoss / Eaton Cessna Gear Pump is a fixed displacement external gear pump suited for demanding hydraulic applications. Its field-reversible pump direction adds installation flexibility, while reduced noise and vibration make it well-suited for operator-sensitive environments such as lift trucks and fan drive systems.

Typical applications include tractors and harvesters, machine tools, steering circuits, compactors, sweepers, rotary and reel mowers, and auxiliary work circuits. Rated for a minimum working temperature of -20°C, this pump handles cold-start conditions in outdoor and seasonal equipment. Volumetric and mechanical efficiency are both addressed in the design, supporting consistent output across varying load conditions.

got a lift truck that runs fans and steering off the same circuit, does this pump handle that kind of split duty or is it better suited for one job at a time?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 31, 2025, 8:10 AM
Fan drive and steering are both listed application types for this pump, so running auxiliary and steering work off the same machine isn't outside what it was built for. It's a fixed displacement external gear pump, meaning output stays consistent regardless of load fluctuation, which helps when you've got more than one circuit pulling from it. The reduced noise and vibration design also makes it a reasonable fit for operator cab environments where those things matter.
