Designed for suction-line service across a range of media, including hydraulic and lubrication oils, gasoline, air, water, and chemical transfer, this Dash -48 hose from Eaton Aeroquip is built to perform reliably under demanding industrial conditions. The blue elastomer cover is paired with a synthetic rubber tube and reinforced with helical wire and textile in a 2-ply braid construction, giving the hose both flexibility and structural integrity through a rated impulse cycle life of 500,000 cycles.

The Wire InsertED Suction Hose carries SAE 100R4 certification and meets ABS, USCG, Bureau Veritas, and MSHA compliance standards, making it well suited for marine and mining environments. A minimum bend radius of 18 inches and a minimum working temperature of -40°F support broad application versatility. Compatible fittings include OTC, TTC, -40 and -48 crimps, and reusable nipple clamps. The lay line is embossed, and the hose is conductive by design.

does this hose handle suction on hydraulic systems or is it strictly a pressure line?

Suction is exactly what it's built for. The helical wire reinforcement keeps the hose from collapsing under vacuum conditions, which is the main failure point on suction lines that aren't rated for it. Hydraulic and lubrication oil applications are both covered, and the synthetic rubber tube holds up to the fluid contact. SAE 100R4 certified, so it meets the standard spec most hydraulic suction setups call for.
