both ends on this fitting are 9/16-18 male JIC, right? trying to figure out if it'll work running a line through a panel with connections on either side

Correct on both counts. Each end carries a 9/16-18 Male JIC SAE 37 Degree Flare thread, so you've got matching connections at both ends. The bulkhead design lets you run a line through a panel or wall and make up the joint on each side. The lock nut is included and uses the LOCKNUT 0306-06 spec, so you've got everything you need to cinch it down and keep it from backing out once it's in place.
