Question by: Glen H on Aug 23, 2025, 7:02 PM
got a 3/4 NPT line, is this valve full port or is it gonna choke the flow some
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 25, 2025, 11:39 AM
With a 0.67 inch orifice and a Cv of 23, it is a reduced port ball valve, not a full port style. It will still flow well for a lot of hydraulic circuits, but the orifice size tells you it is not full bore through the valve.
Question by: Cody M on Jan 24, 2026, 8:14 PM
what's the pressure rating on this valve for 3/4 inch size, and does it drop off any at higher temps?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 26, 2026, 5:47 PM
At 3/4 inch, this valve is rated 2000 PSI cold, non-shock. That covers the 1/4 inch through 1 inch range in the 2BVM series. Worth knowing though, the pressure rating does come down as temperatures go up. So if your application runs hot, you'd want to account for that when sizing it out.
Question by: Johnny R on Sep 19, 2025, 5:20 PM
What kind of pressure can this handle without shock, say, in a hydraulic setup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 21, 2025, 6:10 AM
These Stauff ball valves are rated to 2000 PSI when used in cold, non-shock applications from 1/4" to 1" sizes. For the larger 1-1/4" to 2" sizes, the rating is 1500 PSI under the same conditions.
