got a 1/4 NPTF line already, is this the right female quick disconnect half to put on it?

does this coupling need any tools to hook up or disconnect, or is it pretty much just push and pull?

Push to connect is all it takes on the female end. No tools required for either connecting or disconnecting. The ball lock mechanism handles retention, so once it seats, it holds. Makes field swaps a lot faster when you're not hunting around for a wrench.
