Description & Features

The 2PE Series Aluminum Gear Pump by Salami Hydraulics NA Inc features a robust design with a 2-Bolt SAE A mounting flange, ensuring reliable performance. Boasting a displacement of 0.50 cu in/rev, this gear pump is capable of handling pressures up to 3600 PSI with a rated flow of 3.8 GPM.

Engineered for flexibility, this pump offers compatibility with various shafts, flanges, and ports while meeting European, German, and American standards. The axial compensation, provided by floating bushings, maintains high volumetric efficiency across the working pressure range.

Operating at speeds up to 3500 RPM, the 5/8 St. Keyed SAE A Shaft ensures stability and precision. The pump is designed for clockwise rotation, although it can easily be adjusted to counter-clockwise by repositioning the drive and driven shafts and rotating the front flange.

Pressure ratings include an inlet pressure range of 7.38 in. Hg to 21.7 PSI and capability of handling continuous working pressures with peak pressures up to 4350 PSI. The pump's filtration requirements adhere to ISO 4406 standards.

The temperature rating spans from -4deg;F to 185deg;F with Buna-N seals and up to 230deg;F with FPM seals, supporting a variety of applications. Recommended fluid viscosity ranges from 66 SUS to 3635 SUS, with a normal operating range of 85 SUS to 297 SUS.

What kind of fluid should I be running in this pump?

Normal operation should be with fluid that’s between 85 and 297 SUS. You can get away with 66 SUS, but you gotta knock the working pressure way back.

rotation on this thing, does it come set up for clockwise or do I need to flip it around before I put it on?

Clockwise rotation is standard out of the box. If your system runs counterclockwise, you can switch it by swapping the positions of the drive shaft and driven shaft and rotating the front flange. No special tools or parts needed for that, just a matter of reassembly before you get it mounted up.

can this pump be switched to run counter-clockwise, or is it stuck at CW only?

Clockwise is the default setup, but counter-clockwise is doable. You'd need to swap the positions of the drive shaft and driven shaft, then rotate the front flange. It's a repositioning job rather than a parts swap, so no special components required to make that change.
