1/2 X 3/8 NAB X FIP ADAPTER

Description & Features

Manufactured by Midland Industries, this reducing adapter provides a threaded connection between a 1/2 in. NAB (No-Arc Brass) male end and a 3/8 in. female iron pipe (FIP) port. The size reduction makes it well-suited for connecting components with mismatched thread sizes in compressed air, fluid transfer, and industrial fluid control applications.

The 1/2 X 3/8 NAB X FIP Adapter is a practical fitting for assemblies where a standard pipe thread female port requires a NAB male connection at a reduced diameter. Brass construction provides reliable corrosion resistance and durability across a range of industrial service conditions.

What exactly is NAB threading, and is that the same as regular brass pipe thread?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 12, 2025, 11:09 AM
NAB stands for No-Arc Brass, which is a thread type used on fittings where a standard male connection is needed without the arc-welded or soldered joint construction. It is not the same as standard NPT pipe thread. This particular adapter has a 1/2 in. NAB male end on one side and a 3/8 in. female iron pipe thread on the other, so the two sides are different thread types entirely. If your component has a 3/8 FIP port, this fitting bridges that connection to a 1/2 NAB male source.

got a 3/8 female pipe port and a 1/2 NAB male line, is this the right little adapter to make em meet?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 23, 2025, 11:44 AM
Built for exactly that mismatch, it reduces from a 1/2 in. NAB male end into a 3/8 in. female iron pipe (FIP) connection so you can tie a NAB male connection into a smaller female pipe-thread port.
