Cast iron construction and a pressure-balanced 12-vane design work together to keep flow smooth and consistent. The whole point of that vane count is cutting down on pulsation, so metal cutting applications are actually one of the core uses this pump was built around. You're not going to get the kind of surging you sometimes see with gear pumps in that same duty.
