40 Series Gear Motor, 0.75 cu in/rev, 2-Bolt SAE A Mounting Flange, 5/8 St.Keyed x 1.25 Long Shaft, SAE-12 Side Ports, Bi-Rotational

Description & Features

The Cross Manufacturing 40 Series Gear Motor is designed for bi-directional applications featuring a displacement of 0.75 cu in/rev. It operates efficiently with a 2-bolt SAE A mounting flange and SAE-12 side ports.

This gear motor is crafted with a hardened steel shaft measuring 5/8 inch keyed and extending 1.25 inches in length. It supports high-pressure operations with a rated working pressure of 3000 PSI and a maximum shock pressure of 3500 PSI.

The bi-rotational design utilizes internal check valves ensuring case pressure is drained effectively. The pressure-balanced loading plates and advanced gear tooth design guarantee low noise levels and high volumetric efficiency.

Constructed from die-cast aluminum alloy for the body and end covers this motor features sintered metal gears and Teflon impregnated sleeve bearings for durability. The motor runs at speeds up to 3000 RPM making it suitable for various industrial settings.

outlet pressure on this thing, if it climbs above 250 PSI do I really need to run a separate case drain line, or is that just a suggestion?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 9, 2025, 6:35 AM
That's a hard requirement, not a recommendation. Outlet pressures over 250 PSI on this motor require a case drain line to be installed. The bi-rotational design uses internal check valves to route case pressure back to the low pressure side, but once your outlet climbs past that 250 PSI threshold, those internal valves alone aren't enough to protect the motor. Skipping the drain line in that situation will shorten the motor's life in a hurry.

swapping out an old motor, what do i need to match up on this one so it bolts on and hooks up right
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 12, 2026, 8:09 PM
The key items are the 2-bolt SAE A mounting flange, the shaft size and style (5/8 inch keyed, 1.25 inch long, hardened steel), and the port style and location (SAE-12 side ports). Matching those three gets you the mounting, coupling, and hydraulic connections lined up for this 40 Series gear motor.
