The 4000 Series Geroler Motor is engineered for peak performance maintaining a fluid viscosity range of 100-200 SUS and operating efficiently at temperatures up to 180F.
Maximizing energy savings it offers the lowest pressure drop in the industry with a torque rating of 930 newton metre. For continuous back pressure scenarios over 1500 PSI an external case drain line is recommended to keep the motor case full. The motor supports premium quality anti-wear hydraulic fluids and adheres to ISO Cleanliness Code level 18/13 for optimal filtration.

motor's been running strong but I got continuous back pressure pushing past 1500 PSI pretty regular, do I need to do anything special to keep from cooking it?

At that pressure level, yeah, you'll want to run an external case drain line. The motor can handle up to 1500 PSI without one, but anything consistently above that and you need the drain hooked up to keep the case full of fluid at all times. Running it dry or with insufficient case fill above that threshold is hard on the internals over time.
